World Quality Day 2017

World Quality Day is an annual recognition of quality. It is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of individuals, teams and organisations, and recognise those that demonstrate leadership to sustain and improve performance every day of the year.

The dates:

  • 9 November 2017
  • 8 November 2018
  • 12 November 2019

Quality professionals at all levels display leadership behaviours – from advocating why quality is important to using fact-based thinking to help businesses balance conflicting objectives and targets.

This year, (#WQD17) we are celebrating everyday leaders who exhibit the values of the quality profession – a clarity of purpose, a focus on stakeholders, a commitment to do things properly and to objectively evaluate outcomes, along with a passion for continuous improvement.

Companies around the world are recognising the day. Here are some ways that organisations are going to celebrate World Quality Day:

  • Company presentations to recognise improvement over the past 5 years
  • Talks by representatives of departments on how quality has improved and their plans to continue improvement
  • Hosted lunchtime event explaining what quality means to the company and how leadership enables it
  • Quality-themed coffee morning. This is how I will be marking the occasion, with one of my clients!

Are you celebrating #WQD17? If so, how?
