What are the benefits of using an external auditor such as yourself?
Question answered on 16/07/18
There are many benefits to be gained from using an external resource to assist with your quality audits, including:
- bringing a fresh pair of eyes into your organisation – an external auditor will ‘see’ and unearth opportunities that may not have been discovered internally
- digging deeper – an external auditor doesn’t have the organisational knowledge & background of an internal auditor so has to dig that bit deeper, potentially realising opportunities that may be missed otherwise
- best practice – a different approach to auditing, rather than ‘going through the motions’
- relieves internal resource pressures – by using another resource, staff can get about their business rather than conducting audits
- learning – from someone who has more experience
- more accountability – when an external partner performs an audit that generates actions, they are more likely to be completed in a timely manner
Some organisations sub-contract the majority of their audits; others use an external resource a couple of times a year. Find the balance that works for you.
